The beauty of the waterfall has one big drawback: it is located on the Northern slope of the mountain range, so most of the year it is in the shade. In summer the best time to visit is morning or evening.

For hiking enthusiasts, there is a walking route to the top of the waterfall. The scenic path used to be used to deliver cheese from the Langfoss støl mountain farm. You can climb to a height of 640 meters, where you can enjoy wonderful views. The route is 1,740 meters long and takes up to an hour and a half to reach the top point.
