Plaza de la Constitución, Peñíscola
After meeting the sunrise on the northern embankment, I headed to the modern part of the city. Ullal de l'Estany Lake is located in the heart of new Peniscola. In fact, this is an artificial pond, arranged on a river flowing out of a huge swamp that separates the coast from the mountains.
A winding canal flows out of the lake and ends at the Plaza de la Constitución.
Constitution Square is a circular island surrounded by a canal. On the island there is a stone pyramid with the name of the square.
Another art object on the island is dedicated to Spain's entry into the European Union.
Here the river goes into an underground pipe laid under a wide strip of sand on the South Beach (Playa Sur).
