Gaudalen. Outskirts of Trondheim
Continue your way along the Gaula river in the direction of Trondheim. Gradually the area becomes more populated.
On both sides of the road are increasingly found small farming villages with white wooden churches.
Before modern roads towns in the Gaudalen had only a railroad Rørosbanen, built in 1862-1877. When the line goes near the highway, you can see the well-preserved station buildings of the century before last.
Geula is not like a stormy mountain river in the lower reaches.
The mountains are getting lower, on the gentle slopes in a variety of scattered farm houses and green fields.
Closer to the Trondheim fjord begins almost flat plain. Here is located the capital of the Sør-Trøndelag area, where will be our next stop.
