Morris Mini Minor

This compacts car, a product of the British Motor Corporation, were produced by various manufacturers from the late 50s until the beginning of the new century. The Suez crisis of 1956, which caused interruptions in the supply of petroleum products, led the corporation's management to create an inexpensive, economical car. As a result, the British government was even forced to introduce a limit on gasoline sales.

The car was designed by a team of two engineers, four draftsmen, and two students under the supervision of designer Alex Issigonis. The management set a task-to create a car as compact as possible, limiting the size of 3x1. 2x1. 2 meters, while it was necessary to squeeze in four adults and luggage.

The designers brilliantly coped with the work, using the transverse arrangement of the engine, which made it possible to allocate 80% of the car's area for the interior. The prototype was ready in 1957, and it took another year and a half to complete.
