Pernilla Wiberg Hotel, Idre
After passing through western Sweden, it was late in the evening when we arrived at our first overland overnight stop on this trip.
Today we were sheltered by the Idre ski resort, which is currently empty near the border with Norway. This modern complex is well known not only in Sweden, but also throughout Europe.
We spent the night in the main hotel of the resort - Pernilla Wiberg Hotel.
The hotel is named after the famous Swedish alpine skier Pernilla Wiberg and, as you might guess, also belongs to her. The athlete invested her fees, so to speak, according to the profile.
The hotel, which was empty at this time of year, was obviously waiting for us - there was a fire burning in the fireplace.
The large hall is decorated "like a forest".
A special atmosphere was created by the live lights burning on the stump tables.
My room was very spacious and bright. It's a pity I didn't capture the view from the window - it was already dark while we were having dinner.
In addition to the wide bed, I saw a large ottoman with pillows, a work desk with a table lamp, and two spacious closets.
In the bathroom there was an electric clothes dryer with an extractor hood, a very useful thing for skiers.
The previous two nights had been spent on Baltic ferries, mostly in their bars and variety shows, so after dinner I felt an overwhelming urge to lie down, leaving my walk through the Swedish forest for the early morning.
