Capo d’Orlando. The seafront and beaches

The town of Capo d'orlando is located on the Northern coast of Sicily, between Cape Calava and Cefalu. The surrounding area is hilly, sometimes with steep slopes and rock masses, such as Cape Orlando, which gave the name to the city.

At the highest point of the city, on the top of Monte della Madonna, are the main attractions - the ruins of a medieval fortress andA ShrineI've already visited.

On the horizon, you can clearly see the silhouettes of the Aeolian (liparian) Islands: distant Alicudi and Filicudi and Salina, near Lipari and Vulcano.

To the right, in the distance, Cape Cefalu cuts into the sea.

The population of Capo d'orlando is about 13,000 inhabitants, and triples at the peak of the beach season. There are many hotels of various capacities and price levels at the service of tourists, as well as most residents rent rooms to vacationers.

The sandy and pebbly beach stretches for several kilometers, and the features of winds and currents allow you to swim at least five months of the year - from June to October.

В сражении участвовало до 96 галер, силы были примерно равны, победу одержал Федерико, в результате конкурент отступил, сохранив всего 17 кораблей.

Сегодня 1 ноября, пляжи пусты, хотя температура воздуха и воды вполне позволяют загорать и купаться.

Так же я не увидел не одной работающей точки общепита. Как, например, это заведение "медленного питания".

За все время прогулки вдоль набережной я увидел у воды только парочку купающихся на самом мысу, у маяка, да девушку, загорающую в одиночестве.
