Capo d’Orlando. Church of Santa Maria di Porto Salvo
The present building was built in 1914 on the site of a private chapel owned by the Merendino family.
Porto Salvo means "Patron Saint of the port".
During the Second world war, the Church suffered minor damage during the bombing, but services were not stopped there.
In 1965, the building was rebuilt and became a three-nave building.
