Church of the Madonna of Lourdes, Sorrento

Behind the left corner of the church of St. Onofrio, you can see an equally interesting postmodern building. This is the church of the Madonna of Lourdes (Chiesa della Madonna di Lourdes), built in the 70s of the 20th century. The room has a circular shape, benches are also installed around the circumference. The altar is very ascetic, in fact it is just a crucifix. A gigantic candle with cones-I've never seen anything like it. There are bas-reliefs from the Passion of Christ on the walls. The stained glass windows are made in the avant-garde spirit. Thanks to them, the room is flooded with soft crimson light. In some windows, instead of traditional stained-glass windows, they are made of pieces of multicolored glass and metal. The elegant handles on the entrance doors are stylized as crosses.
