Interiors of the Sankt Albani Kirke. Copenhagen
After getting acquainted with the architecture and history of the church, let's look at its interiors. The ceilings are supported by Gothic pointed arches made in the same style as the windows. The ceiling is lined with dark wood. The interior of the church is the result of the charity of British companies. The carved oak benches are a gift from Thomas Cook and Son, the oldest travel company. The altar and pulpit were donated by the London-based Doulton Company, a leading manufacturer of stone and ceramic products, and were designed by artist George Tynworth. The font is also made by the stone cutters "Doulton". A commemorative plaque dedicated to Alexandra af Danmark, the wife of British King Edward VII (Queen Alexandra), who provided the land for the temple and construction financing. The organ was made by the British company John Walker and Sons, and they also restored it in 1966.
