San Sebastian Beach

The Boulevard Juan de Bourbon led me to the beach of San Sebastian (Platja de Sant Sebastià). This sandbar is located at Plaça del Mar and stretches for 400 meters, being a natural pier for the Old Port.

Above the southern part of the beach stands the Barcelona W Hotel, opened in 2009. The 29-story building, shaped like a sail, was built for the Olympics on an artificial peninsula.

On the beach there is a city Swimming Club (Club Natació Barcelona). The club was founded in 1907 and was the first in Spain.

The beach is not protected from the open sea, there are good waves here, which attracts surfers at any time of the year.

On the beach promenade there are surf clubs where you can rent a board, as well as a shop with the appropriate assortment.
