Viima 2 training aircraft
Two-seat light biplane Viima 2 was developed by engineers of the company VL (Valtion lentokonetehdas) under the direction of Arvo Ilinen in 1935. The empty aircraft weighs only 555 kg and is equipped with a 150 HP Siemens-Halske Sh 14A engine. Total 23 units were built.
Vilma 2 was used in the air force for initial pilot training until the 60s, after which some of the aircraft were sold to civilian airlines and private individuals. According to the registry, 17 aircraft of this type are currently in flight condition.
