Night Show on the Silja Galaxy Ferry

On DFDS ferries, there are usually no entertainment options other than duty-free alcohol bars, as it is primarily a transportation line. Silja's ships, on the other hand, are marketed as transportation and tourist vessels, offering a comprehensive evening entertainment program for passengers. The main entertainment venue is located in the aft section of the 6th and 7th decks, featuring the Starlight, an Art Deco-inspired space with a large stage, a two-tiered amphitheater with tables, and bars. The classic entertainment program starts at 10 p.m. and usually lasts until 1 or 2 a.m. It is aimed at a respectable audience. For those who want to party, there is the Moonlight Dance Bar and the Disco Zenith club, which are open until 4 or 5 a.m.

The show began with an Estonian cover band performing songs in Swedish and Finnish, interspersed with a couple of performances by eccentrics.

About an hour later, the show reached its climax when an impressive magician appeared on stage with a beautiful assistant.

To begin with, the girl lost her head.

Then the head was put back in place, and the assistant was put back in the trunk, but a completely different fat woman came out.

The fat woman was sent back to the dungeon, and the maestro pierced its lid with three swords, after which the assistant regained her appearance as a beautiful girl.

Another transformation, and a beautiful butterfly appeared on the stage.

Then the cover band came back on stage and the dance part of the evening began. Famous melodies of various styles, from jazz to 70s pop music, were played and the dance floor in front of the stage was filled with the audience.

Well, I went up to the upper deck, where it was white night, before falling asleep. To my surprise, I saw not an endless expanse of water, as depicted on the maps, but a labyrinth of small rocky islands, which our ferry was passing at a fairly high speed.
