Church Of San Salvatore, Ragusa
On Via Roma, between the bridge and Via Sant'Anna, begins Via SS.Salvatore, which in two blocks will lead you to the square with the same name. At the end of the square, a wide staircase rises to the portal of the church, also named after the Holy Savior (Parrocchia Ss. Salvatore). The church was built in the early 18th century at the expense of Don Serafino Castelletti from Ibla. The heirs of the pious don continued his work, and through his efforts the church was rebuilt and expanded in the first half of the 19th century. The facade of the church has a strict classical look, decorated with double columns. Above the pediment of the entrance portico we see a statue of Jesus with a cross, the corners of the roof are decorated with figures of angels. The interiors are decorated with paintings and statues, also purchased with funds from the Castelletti family. The church is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Masses are held at 6:30 p.m.
