Príncipe Pío Mountain Observation Deck
In the La Montaña Park, behind the temple of Debod, there is a viewing platform (Mirador de la Montaña de Príncipe Pío), which offers a wonderful view of the western part of the Spanish Capital.
To the right, you can see the western facade of the Royal Palace, in front of it a green array of Casmpo del Moro gardens, behind the Palace are the towers and dome of the Almudena Cathedral.
In the same direction, but much closer, you can see the domes of the Teatro Principe Pio (La Estación Gran Teatro Caixabank Príncipe Pío).
To the right, you can see the Puerta del Angel district, with the Latina quarter behind it. At the bottom left, you can see the upper part of the San Vicente Gate.
To the west is the huge Casa del Campo Park, which is twice the size of the Bois de Boulogne in Paris and New York's Central Park. Since the 16th century, this area was the hunting grounds of the royal family, in 1931 the park became public and now it is a popular holiday destination.
Right in front of the observation deck there is a parking lot, from which two stairs lead to the park.
