Arco do Bandeira (on the map) was built in the late 18th century by the architect Manuel Rinaldo dos Santos (Manuel Rinaldo dos Santos) at the expense of a noble citizen Pires Bandeira (Pires Banderia). Originally there were two arches, on the site of the Northern one is now the building of the Tearta of Queen Mary II. The decoration of the arch is a clear example of the "Pombaline" style.
