Tavukhane Sokak

In the south-western corner of the Hippodrome Square (At Meydanı) begins a street built up with wooden houses from the end of the Ottoman era. The main attraction of the street is a row of two-storey small houses, painted in bright colors. There are a couple of hotels, several souvenir shops and quiet cafes on the street. The only modern building is a large carpet store, where smiling vendors invite passersby. The most amazing thing is that chickens are walking along the cobblestones, accompanied by a rooster, who somehow found themselves in the center of a densely built-up metropolis.
