Fındıklı Parkı
One of Istanbul's most popular parks is located in Beyoglu, west of the Kabatas Ferry Terminal, on the Bosphorus.
In the 19th century, there was a cargo port, which is reminiscent of a wide pier.
The park's embankment offers a magnificent view of the Bosphorus.
On the right you can see Cape Saryburnu with the Topkapi Palace tower, on the right you can see the minarets and dome of the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Sitting on the park benches and watching the Bosphorus is a real pleasure, so there are always a lot of people here.
Under the awnings of the cafe you can drink tea and treat yourself to sweets.
I didn't see any fishermen here, but there are big pieces of bread and bait floating near the shore.
My attention was drawn to an island made of colorful scraps, to which a rope stretched from the shore.
At first I thought it might be a fishing tackle, but when I looked closer, I saw that it was a bunch of burst balloons. Later, I saw that such bundles are used as targets for shooting with an air rifle, such attractions are often found on the quays of Istanbul.
On the territory of the park, sculptural works by students of the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, which is located next to the park, are displayed.
Like Vezede in Istanbul, there are a huge number of stray cats, which, however, do not lack food.
Homeless people find shelter under the trees of the park, their life is much more difficult than cats, however, they also do not starve to death and are quite passably dressed.
Unfortunately, since the end of 2015, most of the park has been fenced off and now a metro station is being built on this territory. Naturally, this caused local residents to protest, as the park was the only quiet and green area from Karakey to Beshkitash. Nevertheless, the city needs to solve transport problems. The authorities promise to restore the park at the end of construction, but many old trees were destroyed.
