View from the Trocadero Square
In front of the Palais de Chaillot (Palais de Chaillot) is the most visited tourist observation deck of Paris, from the height of which the most recognizable view in the world opens to the most famous metal high-rise structure - the tower built by engineer Eiffel as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. It was originally planned that the tower would be dismantled in 20 years, especially since among Parisian aesthetes its construction caused a violent outrage, it was claimed that the tower disfigures the classic appearance of the city. However, the structure has gained huge popularity and has become a huge profit as a tourist attraction. The tower became the main symbol of Paris and after 20 years no one thought about dismantling it.
Under the arch of the tower, the Champ de Mars Park is visible, and behind it the facade of the main building of the Military School (Ecole militaire). The school was founded on January 18, 1751 by order of Louis XV for immigrants from poor noble families. A large open space in front of the school was intended for military exercises of cadets and was named after the god of war. Young Napoleon Bonaparte started school in 1784, but due to financial difficulties, he studied there for only one year..
