El balcón del Mediterráneo

Mediterranean balcony (on the map) - a platform at the very beginning of the New Rambla, on top of a cliff overlooking the coast.

From the "Balcony" opens a panorama of the Bay of Miracl and the beach of the same name, famous for its clean sea water throughout the Mediterranean, despite the fact that it is located in the very center of the city. Beyond the beach, you can see Cape Els Cossis, with fortí de la Reina located on it.

There is also a monument to the Aragonese Admiral Ruggero di Lauria (Rocher de Lauria)whose victory over the fleet of Philip III put an end to the French claim to Spanish lands. The bronze sculpture is made by Felix Ferrera Galseran, the author of the pedestal is Ramon Salas. The monument was opened in 1889.
