The Cathedral (Catedral de Santa Maria). Interiors

We will enter the vaults of the main nave of the Cathedral.

The lantern of the dome of the Cathedral is made in the form of small round Windows with stained glass.

The large organ was made in 1561-1567 by the masters Salvador Estrada and Pere Arrabasabo and replaced the small instrument installed a century earlier. Over the design of the organ from 1562 to 1566, sculptors Rere Ostris and Jeroni Xanxo (Pere Ostris i Jeroni Xanxo) worked.

Marble sarcophagus of Juan of Aragon, son of king Jaime II, Bishop of Toledo and Tarragona.

Капелла Святого причастия (Capilla del Santísimo) построена в 1580 году. Оформлена в виде триумфальной арки, украшенной изображениями художника Исаака Хермеса (Isaac Hermes).

Исполинский алтарь выполнен в готическом стиле каталонским мастером Пере Хуаном (Pere Joan). 15 апреля 1429 года архиепископ Далмау де Мур (Dalmau de Mur) заложил первый камень в основание, работы были закончены и алтарь освящен в 1436 году. В центре - скульптура Девы Марии с младенцем, а по бокам - Святые Павел и Фекла.

Thekla was a disciple of the Apostle Paul, took a vow of celibacy, for which she was sentenced by the Roman Governor to be burned at the stake: "Fire burn the lawless woman, fire burn the celibate woman in the middle of the theater of Gradsky, so that all wives in the future will be afraid, her example enlightened!".

And of course, in the Cathedral on these days, you could see the traditional Christmas Bethlehem, depicting biblical themes.
