El Torro Monument, Castellon de La Plana

To the south of Ribalta Park is a bullring, but the bull monument (El Toro) is located near the western corner of the park. The creation of the monument was funded by the Bullfighting Federation and the Union of Fans.

The sculpture was made by the already well-known sculptor Melchor Zapata in 2008. The artist was born in Seville, but has lived in Castellon de la Plana since the age of 20.

The monument is made of anodized steel plates with a thickness of 10, 20, and 30 millimeters, the weight of the structure is 5 tons. Another work of the sculptor, the statue of the giant Tombatossals on the Avenue of the Virgin of Ledo, also had the same design.
