English Gardens, Seville Alcazar

The garden got its name because the author of its project was the wife of King Alfonso XIII, Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, who was of English descent, she was born in Scotland and was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria. The garden is a piece of forest with a natural arrangement of vegetation, as is customary in classical English gardens. The largest trees in this garden are oaks, cedars and Indian chestnuts. In the English Garden there is a sacred Gingo tree or pagoda tree native to China, it is considered a sacred tree and came to Europe in 1727. In the lower part of the English Garden, in front of the Alcoba Gate, there is the Almohad Tower, which was part of the Alcasa defense system.
