Meridiano del Etna Monument, Rifugio Sapienza

There is an interesting monument between the souvenir pavilions and the parking lot - this is an astronomical pyramid installed on the meridian corresponding to 15 degrees east of Greenwich, which almost exactly runs from north to south through the top of the volcano and close to some famous craters. The monument was built in 2007, it has 4 faces directed to the cardinal directions, a sundial and an astronomical calendar are located on them.
