Schrötter-straße, Old Königsberg
Krasnaya Street in the Amalienau area was previously named Schrötter-straße, in honor of Friedrich Leopold von Schrötter. He was born in East Prussia in 1743 in the family castle of Gross Groß Wohnsdorf, joined a dragoon regiment at the age of 14, participated in the Seven Years' War, where he rose to the rank of officer. Since 1791, Schroeter was the chief president of Konigsberg. In 1795, he was appointed Minister for East Prussia. He died in Berlin in 1815. He gained popularity among the people as a reformer and liberator of the peasantry from feudal dependence, as well as a patron of the University of Königsberg. The street was built in the early twentieth century with two- to four-story apartment buildings..
