Luis I bridge (Ponte de Dom Luís I), Porto
Steel arched bridge over the Douro river was built in 1886 by Theophil Seyrig (Teófilo Seyrig), a student of the great engineer Gustave Eiffel.
The bridge was named after Louis I of Portugal, the ruler is not too successful and popular, as the construction was carried out in the era of his reign. The name of the king and the German engineer-bridge Builder usually flies out of the head of tourists, and iron bindings remind many of the design of the Eiffel tower, so the construction is often called the " Eiffel Bridge".
