Feira Farta in Guarda. Evening in the tavern
The square where the fair is located, surrounded by numerous canopies food stalls. In the evening, curtain sheds fell, turning to small taverns where farmers were going to relax after the hustle and bustle of the fair day.
Hearing the music, I looked at one of these places. Here reigned the atmosphere, quite unlike the sad lyrics Fado show, which is traditionally offered to tourists in Portugal.
In a small pavilion nothing was reminiscent of the" traditional " Portuguese form of art.
Participants of the spontaneous arising of a small ensemble, consisting of two accordions, a small drum and castanets emotionally sang joyful songs.
This did not correspond to the stereotypical image of the Portuguese as melancholic and closed people.
