Gil Eannes Hospital Ship, Viana do Castelo

This vessel was part of a Portuguese fishing flotilla that spent many months fishing for cod off the coasts of Newfoundland and Greenland. The ship provided medical assistance to fishermen, as well as being the flotilla headquarters and supply base.
