Hostal Veguin, Madrid

I spent the final two days of this trip in Madrid. This time I decided to move closer to the Gran via and chose the restal Veguin on via Fuencarral, a couple of blocks from the main Avenue of the city. Like all establishments of this kind, the mini-hotel was located in one of the huge apartments of the old house. I would like to note the authentic decoration of the staircase with dark wood panels and the Concierge's cubicle in Gothic style.

The ceilings and lower surfaces of the staircases are also covered with wooden panels, while the apartments are accessed by classic Spanish doors with glass arches and round copper grilles for ventilation.

The view from the room was also pleasing - from the balcony you could see the prospect of Fuencarril street and the back facades of the first European skyscraper "telefonika".

The night view was no less interesting.

Fuecarril street is full of people until late at night - it is part of the shopping routes, but thanks to the fact that there is no car traffic, the room was quiet. Then I paid 40 euros for two nights - a very nice price for the center of Madrid, but when I tried to book a room here a year later, the prices were twice as high.
