The current building was replaced by the old one in 1913 by the Hayride company, designed by architect Ali Talat Bey. This is an example of the so-called First National Architectural Style, which is also called the Ottoman Renaissance. The style was popular in the construction of public buildings from 1908 to 1930, it used architectural elements and decorations of classical Ottoman architecture. An important transport hub of Beşıktaş Square is located next to the terminal. Many bus routes converge here and there is a metro station. In 1982, in order to unload the terminal, a new berth was built for the Beşıktaş-Kadıköy line a hundred meters to the right. Originally there was a wooden pavilion, in 2005 it was replaced with a new one made of concrete and glass.
