Night In San Sebastian. Congress Palace and Kursaal Auditorium
The zurriola beach, Palace of congresses and the Kursaal Auditorium (Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio Kursaal on the map).
The Palace was built in 1999 by José Rafael Moneo Vallés. The complex consists of two halls: the Kursaal Auditorium, which can accommodate 1,800 spectators, and the Congress Hall, which has three times less seats. The Palace became the main venue of the international film festival held in San Sebastian since 1953.
Initially, the futuristic structure, contrasting with the urban style of the Belle Epoque (Belle Epoque), caused dissatisfaction with the residents, but over time became one of the symbols of the Atlantic resort.
