Grüner Markt, Bamberg
Hauptwachstraße will take you to the Grüner Markt (green market). I don't think we need to explain the origin of the square's name. Now agricultural products are not sold here, this is the center of the pedestrian zone of the Old Town.
The square is surrounded by houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, the first floors of which are occupied by boutiques and souvenir shops. At the end of the square are the Galeria Bamberg and New Yorker department stores.
On the Grüner Markt there are two important sights of Bamberg - the Jesuit Church of St. Martin and the Neptune Fountain, I will tell you about them separately.
There are also several cozy cafes and restaurants that are very popular among tourists, there are several hotels.
