Hot Spots of Boulevard de Clichy, Paris
After leaving Montmartre, we walked along the Boulevard de Clichy, which stretches from Place de Clichy to Place Pigalle. This area of Paris is known as the center of nightlife for the public, not too burdened with high morals. Along the north side of the street stretches an endless series of entertainment venues, where you can spend time in a piquant atmosphere and find stalls for the night to suit all tastes and budgets.
The most famous of these is the Moulin Rouge (Red Mill) cabaret, located a block from Place de Clichy, next to the Blanche metro station. The cabaret was opened on October 6, 1889, the opening day of the World's Fair. There is an opinion that the Moulin Rouge was the first institution of this genre, and its highlight was the shocking cancan dance for a respectable audience. However, this is not so, in the vicinity of Mormartre cabarets began to appear in the early 19th century, and cancan was first shown in the cabaret Elise Montmartre (L'Élysée Montmartr), founded in 1807. The secret of Moulin Rouge's success was the design of the building, the very mill whose color directly hinted at red lanterns-a symbol of corrupt love. To support the scandalous reputation in 1893, one of the dancers completely undressed on stage, for the first time in history demonstrating a striptease. Cabaret has long given stunning beauty (and price) performances with artists of various genres and far from obscenity, but this place is still considered a symbol of Parisian debauchery. Prices here start from 100 euros and reach 1200 euros, and tickets must be ordered two to three months in advance.
Nearby is the La Diva nightclub, where a specially trained person grabs you by the sleeve and invites you to watch an erotic show in a soft voice for just 30 euros. This modest amount includes a free cocktail, as well as a tempting opportunity to find a partner for love joys. The partner, of course, is very quickly and treats himself, of course, at your expense, and then disappears, and you are offered to pay for what they have drunk at absolutely insane rates. The bill can reach many hundreds of euros, and it is quite possible that someone will pay it without a murmur. You can challenge the amount, and after a lot of argument, they'll charge you a hundred or two, and you'll be relieved to get out of here, even though you'd pay three times less in a normal bar. The scheme has been working flawlessly for decades, it is widely known, but simpletons are not translated. The location also has an impact, it is, so to speak, a budget alternative to the expensive and inaccessible Moulin Rouge. But, as they say, a miser pays twice.
On the southern side of the boulevard, the lower floors of buildings are occupied by shops with the appropriate orientation. In sex shops, you can buy all kinds of accessories for making love in a variety of forms, while other stores sell erotic media products. I don't know what the range is, but I believe that there are still some restrictions on the level of obscenity of the media content sold.
In this area, there are many flophouses of different price ranges that offer suffering rooms with hourly rates, but they are located mainly in alleys. On the boulevard, most of the hotels are quite respectable and not cheap.
There are also multifunctional centers, such as this Sexodrome. Here you can get a full range of services: enjoy an erotic massage, spend time in the sauna with girls, watch an entertainment program, as well as buy DVDs with porn movies.
