Sandcastles on Barceloneta Beach
Even in winter, the beaches of Barceloneta are not empty - there is almost no strong wind here.
On this day before Christmas, the audience walked by the water or sat on the sand, contemplating the waves and enjoying the sea air.
The most active try to conquer the waves, gliding on them on surfboards.
And someone builds amazing structures out of sand.
Castles are quite similar to real ones, with many small architectural details and decorations.
Sculptures of people and animals are also carefully executed.
The work is painstaking, requires caution and patience.
I don't know if the builders of the sand towers earn any substantial income from tourists ' alms, but they treat their work with love and imagination.
It's amazing how complex, stable shapes can be created from loose material.
At the same time, sculptors manage only with water and a simple tool. Of course, there is a small trick - a binder is added to the water.
Unfortunately, masterpieces are short-lived...We'll have to start all over again in the morning. Or maybe that's the whole joy of creating something new every day?
