Morning Walk in Raval
The church of San Antonio Abad was built during the second quarter of the fifteenth century. It was burned down in 1909 and finally demolished in 1936. Only the part of the porch is preserved, with three large ogival arcades, among which there are sculpted the shields of King Alfonso the Magnanimous, of his wife Maria of Castile, of the city and the emblem of the saint, a tau. Of the three upper windows, only the one on the left is original. The others, as well as the interior door of the nave, are the result of a reconstruction of the twenties.

El Cat de Botero. It is a symbol of the Raval district. It seems that at the end of the Rambla of this neighborhood the Cat is at ease, after having spent no more and no less than 15 years looking for a house. Botero's Cat is greeted by everyone with a smile on his lips. He has only one competitor: the Horse of the same author. Fernando Botero's Cat was acquired by the Barcelona City Council in 1987. Since then and until 2003, the sculpture wandered the streets of the city in search of a definitive location. He first found her in the Ciutadella Park, near his companions from the Barcelona Zoo. Then they took it next to the Olympic Stadium and a few years later it was placed in a small square behind the Drassanes (Shipyards) of Barcelona. Finally, in 2003, the decision was made to place it definitively at the end of the young Rambla del Raval. And perhaps because cats have seven lives, it stands out there with special intensity. Everyone recognizes the figure of the cat, big and fat, made of bronze, with a childish face and a long tail. A meeting and playing point for the most daring, who climb on top to take pictures, the sculpture has been fully integrated into one of the most remodeled environments in Barcelona. The Botero monument represents an element of our everyday life but with excessive proportions. The same style defines the Colombian author's Horse, placed in Terminal 2 of Barcelona Airport since 1992, and which has become a meeting point for passengers at El Prat airport.
