Arrival and Evening Walk

The journey began with a flight from Yekaterinburg-Helsinki-Barcelona, on a Finnair plane. It was +6 degrees at Helsinki Airport and 6 hours of free time. Part of it was spent on the Finnish National Aviation Museum, located a 20-minute walk from the terminal. The flight to Barcelona took four hours, arriving at 20:30. After 15 minutes, I received my backpack in my luggage, then in 25 minutes I took the air express to Plaza Catalunya and walked for another 8 minutes to the Hostal Rembrandt in the Gothic Quarter. There were complaints about noisy rooms (there are several nightclubs nearby) and cold in the Booking reviews, but I got the room has access to the courtyard, a well, and a fan heater was included, which, in general, was not much needed, since it was +16 outside. The price/convenience/location ratio satisfied me quite well..

Since more than a day had passed since my departure from home, and the desire to lie down was very great, nevertheless, the temptation to run through the festive streets won out. The flophouse is located on Portaferrissa Street, despite the fact that it is very narrow, it is one of the busiest streets of the streets of the Gothic Quarter. A dense crowd carried me out onto La Rambla Boulevard, which was also lively, despite the fact that it was about 11 p.m..

The Rambla took me to Plaza Catalunya, which was ablaze with Christmas lights and beautifully illuminated fountains.

Then I headed back to the hotel, along Portal del Angel, Barcelona's main shopping street. That was the end of the first day of the trip.
