Riurau d'Arnauda, Jávea

Jávea is not too rich in antiquities, but it has a unique object located on the Plaza de la Constitución. A long canopy on stone arches was used for manufacturing. To do this, the grapes were placed on trays under a canopy, where they were subjected to natural drying. Riurau in Jávea is the largest building of this type that has survived to the present day. It consists of two rows of 14 arches of their rough stone, as well as an inner row of columns on which the roof is supported. The building has a length of 55.6 meters, a width of 8.7 meters and a height of 3.05 meters. Now it hosts festivals, exhibitions, concerts and other events. It is especially interesting here during the Christmas holidays, when locals recreate the interiors and live scenes from the life of ancient Bethlehem, so to speak, life-size nativity scenes.
